Ponzi Hates Technology!
Not exactly front page news, but Ponzi's had it up to HERE with DRM and portable music players (including the stupid little iPod Shuffle):
Fair cost in my mind doesn't have much to do with dollars and cents; it mainly just has to make sense – in my non-technical mind. It has to be friendly and useful, not take too much time during the learning curve, and must be intuitive to my next desires should I make a mistake. This is where it would pay for all you smart “marketing gurus” to listen.
Yeah, I know that even something as rudimentary as podcasting is a pain in the ass – I admit it. Managing regular ol' digital music ain't that much easier, either. It's absolutely, positively not simple. Anybody who says “this stuff” is simple oughta be drug out into the middle of the street and shot.
GoToAssist can save you - the computer repair person - both time and money. Stop making those house calls. Use GoToAssist to connect to your customer's computer right from your home or office. Cut out the travel time, and free yourself up to take in even more business.

I'd say it's not simple – but it could be. Unfortunately the content industries (represented in the US by the RIAA and MPAA) don't get it. Instead of a great opportunity, they saw digital music as something to fear. DRM gives them a means of control. But they're too afraid to give consumers what they want.
They're afraid that what consumers want is for them to become obsolete.

Wow, that sounds like something that I might say…lol. I agree with you, Chris and I am actively doing something about it where I can. ;o)

hey chris
i was going to build myself a htpc
but im trying to decide between windows XP MCE SP2 and just get the MCE remote for control or windows XP PRO and buy the I/O Gear GME422RW6 phaser 3 in 1 mouse and control it from my theater room
im going to use the HTPC for some surfing via wifi network and Blue-ray/DVD playback and some photo editing
ive checked on Windows Vista and i get less problems as far as hardware issues and price if went with XP MCE or XP PRO
which is the better route to take?
thanks
eric
