I still don't know how to move images in outlook express to Picasa! And this is after reading everything on the page.

It is not vital, but would appreciate any help you can send me.

Cheers

I'm trying to help a friend move his data to a new computer. His old one was W2K and his new one is Vista.

He was running Picasa2 on his W2K machine so I downloaded the latest version of P2 and installed it with no problems. However two problems later cropped up.

1. What happen to Albums? His W2K version allowed him to create Albums locally on his HD. (Not Web Albums). On the Vista machine in Album's place there is a command called Labels. Is this the new name for local Albums so as not to confuse it with Web Albums?

2. On his old machine he had created a number of local Albums. Where is this Album/maybe now Label information stored? Can I just copy it over from the old drive so that his albums will still be available?

Thanks for any help.

I'm using picasa2 and love it. Two problems.

1. I can't find a way to delete indivdual pictures.

2. When I open Picasa2 two error msgs pop up

        A. the procedure entry pointThunk32Connect32 could not belocated in the dynamic link library Kernel 32.dll

         B. The CinePlayer decoders cannot finda valid license. Please re-install the product.

I click OK on eachof them and they come back several times before disapearing. Very frustrating. Got any ideas?

I have used Jasc Photo Album 5 and its successor, Corel Photo Album 6 but prefer Picasa 2. I removed the Jasc/Corel products from my PC because I had stopped using them and they were just clutter. Picasa 2 rocks.

I just found picasa while looking for a windows version of iPhoto for a relative. It totally rocks. The relative is over the moon, and I've installed it onto every winbox around the place.

i have been using adobe photoshop album, which bogs down my system and is super slow with my photo files. i hadn't switched to picasa because of features like tags, editing options, etc. the new release of picasa includes everything that interested me in photoshop album, plus you can print to the particular online photo store i had been using, which wasn't one of the available services conveintly bundled in photoshop album. also, edited file saving is much better--it saves the originals in a separate subfolder as opposed to giving a new filename. great for those of us who use our tivo (or myth) boxes to show visitors our photos so that only our edited files display without me having to manually rearrange things every time. i'm seriously considering switching, especially since i have only begun organizing, tagging, and editing my photos in photoshop album and wouldn't be loosing that much information in the transfer. i've been playing with a large amount of my photos in picasa, they are close to 2M each in jpg format and i do not seem to be having speed/bogging issues i had been using the other program...
thank you, thank you, thank you for the heads-up on the new release, chris!

Chris, have you looked at the performance on Picasa with a mid-sized library? It ground my P4HT all the way down to stopping audio playback of your 'cast. I tried creating a movie and it spits out AVI files that are jerky. The screensaver never showed up, just a hung progress bar. The collage feature is great, if you don't mind waiting 20 minutes for something to return from only a dozen or so pics. RAW takes FOREVER! The refresh on their thumbnails could use a lot of improvement as well.
For a person who is so into raising the bar and calling others to-task, I don't understand your fascination with this one...
