Our initial and ongoing success has been tied into a "simple" model, illustrated in this diagram. Users are active, Observers are passive, and Producers are facilitators, and Developers are creators. We bridge the gaps between certain symbiotic (yet disjointed) relationships in technology: User to Developer, Producer to Observer.

We are closest to perfecting this model in Gnomedex. While an Observer (Maryam Scoble) finds extreme value in our conference, so do the Producers (Microsoft). The User walks away with new solutions (Todd Cochrane), and the Developer walks away with new ideas (Greg Reinacker). Several spouses (non-technical Observers) are strongly considering attending future Gnomedexes. Conversely, Doug Kaye (a new media Producer) can't wait to sign up for Gnomedex on his own dime.

This outline places a focus on the goals for our entire organization (self brand not included, but implied), with the consumer being of prime importance.
