Photo Hosting Websites
http://live.pirillo.com/ – MSometimes websites shut down, and you need to take your content off that website and move it to another site. One such website thats shutting down is Photosite, and a community member is now in quite a predicament: he needs a good site to store his photos on.
There are a lot of choices today, such as Flickr and Zooomr. But, there is no guarantee that they're going to be around indefinitely. So, there are a few things you should look at when transferring your content from one service to another:
- Make sure they have features you're familiar with. You may find it difficult to move to another service if they don't offer similar features.
- Make sure they offer a way for you to get your content off their service. Some places don't offer you a way to retrieve your content easily.
- Try using more than one service. You may find one service to be OK but another service to be great. Don't limit yourself to just one service at first.
As for hosting your own, you can use a service like GoDaddy which offers hosting and domain names in an all-inclusive package.
If you do go the GoDaddy route, try using one of our coupon codes!

I have tried many photo sites and Picasa has always been the best for ease of use by me and my visitors. Uploads are easy to manage with the free Picasa application that is also a great photo organizer and viewer. It also does some very simple photo editing with ease. Visitors can view my albums without having to join or login. They are not pressured with ads to buy anything. The web site now finds the location of your photos on a Google map automatically – very cool. All in all, it is a wonderful free suite of photo services in every way.
