Yes, I use to believe that Peet’s was the best coffee in the world. But I’m sorry! I found one that is much better “Kean Coffee”. The difference here is that there a micro roaster Martin Diedrich could be found in the shop roasting the bean’s himself. They rarely sale any beans that are more than 5 days old. Fresh beans improve’s the flavor dramticly. Also sence Martin has good relations with grower’s he is able to pull the best bean’s that some time’s only come in smaller quanities. Large companies could never do anything quit like it. Cause they need to put larger crops to fullfil the order’s of there large consumer base.

But out of all the country’s and cities I’ve been to Peet’s is #2 for me !!

The best coffee in the world is anything made by a Miele Coffee System (Mega Smooth Espresso) and from Portugal.

I never had a espresso like that again. :(

I cannot go back starbuck’s after peet’s. don’t even need sugar. god bless him. and the Lord will be having some good coffee now that he’s passed!

The reason I like Tim Hortons is because it is the “greasy spoon” kinda coffee. I agree it isn't good coffee, but sometimes bad is good.
Having said that, someone pointed out to me the other day that it seems smokers really seem to like it, and as my father was a chain smoker, maybe I have an incliniation for it.
In comparision to most other chain coffee though, I think Timmies is still okay, if not better (and I don't talk abouit the “high end chains).
There is also some perverse pleasure on having one at 3am in the morning after a night if drinking.
Having said that though: I think it is an aquired taste, initially you don't really like it, but the more you drink it the “better” it becomes…. I think they put crack in it.

yes, tim hortons coffee is horrid. akin to the watered down chickory-wood-filler brew my parents make. I'll never understand why people like it so much. Give me some espresso ground Arabian Mocha Sannani from StarBucks anyday…

Timmy Ho's is an Ontario thing. Never really caught on here. Perhaps because it's awful coffee. But it's like with most other things – you grow up with it, it becomes an institution and, unfortunately, most never try anything else or like the drek so much they don't like anything else.
I think there are a lot of people who know it's bad. But it has that 'homey' thing going for it. You know, like craving something you know never tastes good but feels good?

yeah, Peet's is great.. used to live around the corner from that Larry's Market. but B&O is closer to the top of my list. Try it.. near broadway and john on olive.

I do love the Peet's. However, I usually like greasy-spoon coffee. Maybe I've been lucky.

Dude. Timmy's might be a Canadian institution, but the coffee is pretty bad. Distinctive, yes, but bad. When you come north, Salt Spring Coffee Co. is the best stuff, IMHO. And if you guys make it to Salt Spring, I'll buy you both a coffee at the cafe.
