Paul Hansen on Hurricane Wilma The Untold Story

While Hurricane Katrina got a great deal of media coverage due to the massive devastation in and around New Orleans in 2005, a number of other significant weather events also had devastating impact. Category 5 Hurricane Wilma hit the Florida Keys in October 2005 flooding the islands and destroying many residences and businesses in the process. Paul Hansen, a local paramedic, remained on hand throughout the storm witnessing the damaging winds and rising water firsthand. Paul and two other videographers recorded many of their experiences throughout the storm, first as the winds and waters started rising and then as they were trapped in their dwellings waiting for the water to recede. Hurricane Wilma The Untold Story is a DVD documenting their experiences throughout the storm, which ultimately led to disaster relief for the local community college and provides a history record for residents of the island. In this segment Chris and Jake talk with Paul Hansen about his experiences and the events leading up to the making of the DVD. You can watch a trailer at the Marrero Studio website.
