people are idiots. my friend likes hacking accounts (he doesn’t really do anything its just
a hobby of his) and he finds that people have the stupidist passwords. i have the most RANDOM password of all time. i don’t even know where i came up with it. no one could ever hack me =D

I really can not stress enough on telling people to have different passwords!

One thing I like to do which I am sure many other people might do also is making my password by using a word and change some letters with numbers and signs.

For example:
Technologic change it up a bit – T3chn010g1c
dangerforall change to – D@n63r4@11

Also try to use 8 characters or more. Makes it a bit harder for intruders or “hackers.” Also make sure to change your passwords every couple of months. If the websites has ‘password recovery questions’ I also suggest you change those when you change your passwords. Thats kind of all I can think of at the moment so yea. E-ya later!

Hey Chris,
I just thought I’d add something to this one after getting my e-mail and MySpace password “hacked.” One HUGE issue you could have is: if you notice someone has gotten your password repeatedly, there is a good chance you may have spyware on you computer. Before you let the person get any more of your passwords, you should do an intensive spyware check. Although the password/key loggers aren’t that hard to find, sometimes they can make their way past some anti-spyware if you only do a “quick” check.
To wrap it up, if you find that someone has been into your account, not only change your password, but also do an intensive spyware check.

Just thought I’d share what happened to me so I could help other people!

Great tips. This is one of the hardest things when making accounts, is making a new password.
You might also want to add,
Never put your username and password that you use on many sites for “Registering” on a fan site of a game, show host, etc.
Putting your password and username you use on that game in the fan site would be very easy for the “hacker” to get into your account.

I used to always use the same password but in different variations thats all i can really say without giving too much away. Recently i have been changing all my passwords since i realized that one of my “banking” accounts had the same password as one of my messengers which kind of freaked me out, so i changed all my passwords and am very happy i did since the next day that messenger program, was to be believed taken over some how. All my contacts were gone and my messaging name had been changed which was very very freaky. Anyways, awesome tips as usual. I should show this to my parents. They definitely need some password tips like most nontechie people.
