Ozone Zone
It's been a while, but I'm finally ionizing my home again. One of my subscribers (Doug Browning) happens to be a reseller of the unit I wanted most (Fresh Air by EcoQuest). It even comes with a remote control. w00t! Take a look at the comparison chart and you'll see why I picked it. To snoop around Doug's site, you'll need a passcode (just use 'guest'). Smells like a winner to me.

Isn't it wonderful what happens when you get new puppies?
(Have they got papers? All over the house they got papers!)

Hasn't Consumer Reports rated these ionizing type air “cleaners” as fairly ineffective?

I assume you've also in vested in a new vacuum cleaner with Hepa filter. Best one on the market:

Chris – you're normally good at doing your research – what happened this time? The manufacturer has been told a few times by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that they have to stop making unsubstantiated claims, and have even been fined ca. $1.5 million for violating cease and desist orders. They only get away with it now by having their distributors (MLM) make the unsubstantiated claims. Chris, you live in the LA basin – don't you get enough ozone already? Why put something in your home that creates more?

If you want, I can refer you to this obnoxious ass I know who sells Melaleauca. He'll even make you a consultant even if you don't want to be. That's assuming your taste for MLM crap doesn't phase out! ;)

Chris! Don't put an ozone generator in your home. What were you thinking? Go to the EPA web site and read the report about “Ozone generators that are sold as air cleaners.” Very negative! Then read the similar info on the American Lung Association web site. Those units don't COLLECT anything, yet they claim to clean your air. WHERE does that stuff go? If it had the power to make stuff “disintegrate,” as some imply, imagine the effect it might have on your lung tissue. Ozone is a gas, and there is plenty of negative reading material out there about it. Ozone generators cost very little to make, are commonly sold via multi-level marketing, and have HUGE (sometimes as much as 90%) profit margins! That's why so many of the reps out there will TELL YOU ANYTHING to get you to buy one. Steer clear! From my experience, the best air cleaners are the Friedrich C-90A and the IQAIR (in that order). Consumer Reports rated the Friedrich a best buy, as a matter of fact. Go to http://www.bestaircleaner.com and you can study up on the Friedrich; the IQ air site is iqair.com.
