DSL install went like a dream and my account was ready ahead of the scheduled date. And my connection has been strong and stable. But they do need to simplify and unbloat that install.
Meanwhile, Chris, keep giving them hell. Like others said, you ARE a notable figure in cyberspace--but that's not why you should make so much noise. It's because YOUR clout speaks for US who have NO clout. We need all the advocates we can get.

Damn, I feel like I dodged a bullet. My SBC/Yahoo! Chris, DSL is a beast that need to be tamed. But, once it is going solid, it is fantastic! Just give it a bit of time.

Funny, I've had my SBC DSL for going on 3 years and I've never needed a Cisco 678 router or knowledge fo Hyperterminal to get it going.<br

You're running 21st century technology on top of 19th centurt technology and 1960's (or earlier) equipment. There are, on average, over 250 different variables that affect how DSL operates. Cable is so much faster, and doesn't require a Cisco 678 DSL Router and a knowledge of Hyperterminal and the Cisco OS to configure.

Having worked for half a year at Qwest DSL, I can safely say with great conviction that ALL DSL SUCKS. It took them three years to finally make my connection half way stable and even now it's like pulling eye teeth to get any real help from them. On the bright side, they MIGHT be getting better. Anyway wanted to push some happy thoughts your way. After dealing with SBC I usually need all I can get.

Good luck with SBC. Down here in San Diego Cox has been awesome. I don't know what your options are up there but could be worth checking into.

Chris, sounds like it's time to try cable… Down here in San Diego Cox has been awesome. Yeah you are Chris Pirillo. So who cares that you "wrote the first book on email publishing" and coordinate that little Gnomedex shindig. Maybe its time to get off your high horse and relax a bit. If this is the worse thing that happens to you- youre doing alright. Something tells me that being away from the internet for a bit might do you some good. Take a vacation or something. Its obvious you need to blow off some steam.

Hmmm, you raise a good point, but dont you think you are being a bit pretentious? Yeah you are Chris Pirillo.
