Funny you should mention that Christine. I bought an old (now) Sony 900 Mhz cordless so that I could save 2.4gig for WiFi. I'm sure a lot of people don't think of that. But then I've heard the new WiFi uses 5.2 gig. Guess I'll have to throw out my Sonic Toothbrush .

I had a five co-workers giving me negative feedback on their tests of the Linksys WiFi. One tech guy actually all but threatened me if I bought Linksys. I listened - I went with 3Com and have NEVER had a problem. I love my 3Com wireless system. One thing I never thought to think of was interference from the neighbors apartments or my cordless phone. I'm glad I have a 900mHz instead of a 2.4. Less interference & I can surf while on the phone!

Thanks for the pointer to the firmware upgrades. I tried to replace my router/4port with the router/4port/WiFi. Using the exact same setup, EVERYTHING on my lan fell to approx 1/3 to 1/2 the speed of the wired version. So I quickly reverted, and the WiFi sits idle.
I just chalked it up to my own foolishness. I was stupid to believe C|net carnival barkers -- never trust a source who reviews its advertisers. I'm dumb, dumb, dumb.
