Off My Chest
When I first came to TechTV, there was a rumor that the reason it took me so long to get here, was that I was holding out for getting it written into my contract that I would only use BLUE pens. What the…? I only require my writing utensils to not be chewed on and fully functional. What happened, I believe, is someone overheard me asking the question in a late phone interview: “Will I get a desk with office supplies and stuff?” Stupid question, you'd think – but having never been in a true corporate environment at that point, how was I to know? I'm here to set the record straight. If you were one who believed I suffered from this idiosyncrasy, your pennance is to download and install the Plus! CFH Party Mode skin for Microsoft's Plus! DME. They just launched a new community site this morning at 6AM PST. It's already kickin' butt and takin' names. I'll be sure to integrate the new plugin that outupts WMP9 metadata (ID3 information) to an FTP/Web server. That way, you can see just how sick and twisted my tastes truly are.
Stop wasting your time trying to fix computer issues over the phone or the Internet. Use GoToAssist to connect to the other person's machine remotely. GoToAssist's computer-to-computer connection is the fastest way available to help you get things done when there just aren't enough hours in the day.

You know, even though it's not a “thing” with me like it is with Chris, whether he wants to admit it or not :), I want nothing but blue pens myself. Bic Medium Point Blue pens. Anything else is either too snooty or to artsy. Down with any pen but Bic Medium Point Blue!

Agreed. Blue ink is better than black by a long way.

Blue is for poseurs! How blue ever became an acceptable “business” color baffles the imagination. How is blue any more “appropriate” than, say, purple or red? I ask you this! No longer shall the other colors of the spectrum suffer the intolerance and injustice put forth by blue and black users! I declare today National Red Ink Day!
Oh, that CFH thing. Um, that's cool.

No, no… teachers have already laid claim to the red pens. Red ink is for checkmarks and “does not play well with others”… Oh, and the occational reminder that your checkbook is overdrawn.

I won't use any color pen other than black. It began I think when I was in the Army: no blue pens allowed. My wife is the opposite though, she demands only blue. Go figure…

Nothing is quite as nice as a brand new blue Sharpie and a brand new red Sharpie.
At work I actually have my own stash of ball-point “clicky” pens. Pens have a tendancy to disappear around here so I have some that I and only I own. That way if I see them elsewhere in the building I know they're mine and I steal them back!

Blue pens, eh? No, I can't say I've heard that rumor. I simply thought it took you so long to join TechTV simply because you had better things to do with Lockergnome. As for the WM..I'm already afraid.

Don't mock pen-color choice. It's a very personal decision everyone must make for themselves. Bic Medium Point Blues are acceptable only in the absence of Ultra Fine Point Sharpies (in any color other than black). It's a control thing, see? Eliminate
