Turbine games, creators of Asheron’s Call and Dungeons and Dragons Online, is taking a different approach with Lord of the Rings Online. With the Shadows of Angmar storyline, the story is set somewhere between the time Frodo leaves the Shire and when The Fellowship convenes in Rivendell. Rather than controlling one of the nine main characters, you play a character with the ability to influence the direction of events, assisting the nine in their journey while having your own story. All the characters missing from the movies are here, including Tom Bombadill.
