Sounds like he was just being a jerk – I work at a newspaper and completely understood everything she said. E-editions have been slow to take off, but they are catching on more and more throughout the country. And, by saying they are better than google, she’s saying you can’t find every story in a newspaper online, through google, or on the newspaper website – newspapers don’t give all of their content away to be indexed on Google.
Newspapers circulations have in fact decreased – where as some are increasing. I don’t think they will go away anytime soon, but they are re-inventing themselves with things like the e-edition, and more robust websites. http://www.newspapernext.org/
