I haven't used TVersity but have had pretty good luck with Orb through my iPhone. I can access music, photos and documents fairly easily. The one thing it can't do is play WMA lossless which is a big knock. One thing to note, although there is an Orb app for iphone, I simply bookmarked the website after entering my password. Now, I just click the Orb icon and can get to my files.

I have tried them both at the same time on my iphone. Orb took 5 mins to install and set up. TVersity took 1 hour as I had a problem with my firewall. TVersity was a dissapointment. It couldn't open any videos as you have to wait for videos to be encoded first. Orb played everything right away. Whilst i was in the car it took a while for orb music to play and the quality is not as good as it was over a wifi connection but Orb really is better in comparison. It's easy to set up and you can share you music in seconds. You can also view documents like PDFs as well. You can use orb for free on the iphone via safari. It is worth getting the app for £2.99 as the navigation is easier. The navigation for TVersity via safari is really bad and annoying. You can also stream TV with the orb live app at £5.99.

I am going to delete TVersity and compare Orb with Simplify Media. The reviews for Simplify Media seem to be the better when compared to Orb but you cannot stream videos or documents.

I also can't wait for spotify on the iphone!

I run them both... TVersity sucks on my windows mobile phone, orb runs great. Orb sucks on my Xbox 360, and TVersity runs great. The Orb interface is MUCH better on mobile devices and online.

Sorry for the bump.

Orb is designed to be easy to install requiring no port forwarding. However out of experience I have found the ability to use it as a limited user is difficult . When you run Orb and a new version is available, it pops up a balloon that mentions the update, which much be clicked in order to do. However if you are a limited user you have to run orb as administrator each time there is an update. But as orb hooks into winamp, it means winamp has to be shut down completely then opened as administrator, which then launches orb as administrator and even that has issues. So it is better to shut down winamp, switch user to administrator then do it all from his account, then log off and back into the limited user .

Other than that there are interface bugs but hopefully they will be fixed with the new ajax interface.

Other than that I love orb and it does it's job perfectly.

With Tversity I had to open ports, set the user (don't know why because the user that was logged on, was had administrator rights) and I couldn't open movies on my mobile (I had to download the file first before I could open it).
Orb worked right after I installed it. I could add a shared folder on another computer and I could watch movies on my mobile without downloading the whole file.

The only problem with TVersity right now is that if you want to access your media over the internet it's not very secure. Once you forward the port required to access the TVersity Server, anyone can add and remove media from your computer.

TVersity because Orb performance and quality was so poor in comparison. Orb support was horrible. Orb has trouble with NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices of many kinds. Orb was very sensitive to the codecs that were installed and it worked better with a freeware DIVX codec than the DIVX pro that I paid for. None of these problems with TVersity.
