My FAX to the Comcast Business Unit

Apparently, we’re going to be charged for Internet services we have not used for the better part of a month – all because we did not send you a statement in written form (according to your CSR, by phone, a few minutes ago).

We were planning on moving out of Comcast’s area at one point, which is when we initially notified you about closing the business account. You allegedly told Ponzi that she would need to submit the request in writing. She tells me you never asked for that, and I certainly don’t recall hearing about it when I called back a few weeks later to confirm our business account had been closed.

Either way, you’re telling me that I’m wrong and you’re right – and I have virtually no way to prove it. Playing “he said, she said” just wastes more time, energy, and money. Consider this a completely formal request to ONCE AGAIN CLOSE OUR BUSINESS ACCOUNT WITH COMCAST.

Thank you.

something. Readers will have to make up their own minds about where the trustworthiness line gets drawn. Disclosing the motivation and origin of a post of this nature gives them the tools they need to make up their own minds. Read More… I read Chris Pirillo’s recent post about the trouble he’s been having with canceling his Comcast service and remembered Andy’s post about the exact same problem a few months back and our commenter Thomas who said the same thing happened to him.

This exact same thing happened to Andy when he tried to cancel his Comcast service in Vero Beach, FL and moved up to Seattle. It wound up costing him nundreds of dollars and hours on the phone trying to straighten out the mess.

I think Comcast is probably one of the worst services out there in terms of canceling service.

Comcast Customer Service in Trouble with the Blogosphere?…

Typical cable monopoly mentality. For the life of me I can’t figure out why anyone would do business with a cable company as a consumer or business. They will screw you any way they can at some point. It’s in their business plan. Give Speakeasy a call, they can get you hooked up with a T1 at a reasonable rate and they have the best, most ethical business policies and customer service around.

I had similar problems with Comcast and stopped using their services at the end of the summer. We now subscribe to the Dish Network for TV, Verizon FIOS for internet, and Verizon for phone…and we couldn’t be happier.

Can you share their fax number? I’ve been trying to get it but haven’t suceeded yet. Thanks

wow.. is this ‘hidden’ rip off Comcast ?
by the way from what I heard, Comcast going to play with all their services and their customers.
Comcast… Monopoly, Bad Service.. whats good ? Looks almost nothing…

Speaking of fax…apparently their Business Class (digital) phone service is not easily compatible with fax machines. We are just now finding this out at my company. Today they are coming out for the fourth time to try to fix this. I am not letting them leave until they do or I am going to convince my boss to switch back to Verizon. This is ridiculous. Any ethical company would first ask, “Do you regularly use a fax machine?” And then explain that their service is not guaranteed. Thier website claims that it DOES work, but not with certain brands. Fortunately our brand is not listed so that may be grounds to cancel without getting shafted. We will see…
