Multiple Organics

Aren't I just the health nut tonight? Gretchen suggested that I pick up a bag of Rainbow's organic dark breakfast blend. Some guy who is always out in front of the Safeway recommended it to her when she was coming out of Peet's last week. Well, you know me - I'm skeptical of any “good” coffee if it isn't Peet's. As evidenced by my consumption of the marijuana hemp bar, I'm willing to try anything once. Since the store now carries organic heavy cream, I figured I'd give it a shot. After all, I've never had a full organic cup of coffee. Until now.

I ran it through an unbleached paper filter first, just to help Gretchen sleep at night. She's worried I'm going to die if I continue to use this damn thing. Making coffee at home isn't always my favorite thing to do; I can never match the taste my Peet's store gives me. I've gotta admit, this isn't too bad. It's better than what I've been used to (again, at home). I could get used to this organic lifestyle - it's not cost prohibitive out here in San Francisco.

I know how you feel :-(
I love Dunkin' Donuts coffee, it's a coffee and breakfast chain here in New York. I love the coffee so much that everytime we go by it , I have to stop. I bought a pound from them, and was going to make my own little “cup of heaven”, anytime I wanted to. When I brewed it thru my machine, it tasted like ****! I'll never buy any of it to brew myself again. I'll put on my coat, get into the car, and go to the local Dunkin' Donuts.

Agreed - they do make a great “cup-o-joe”! You just have to stop them before they scoop 4 or 5 tablespoons of sugar in!

Good coffee requires good ingredients, but, as a rule, I've found it terribly difficult to make good tasting coffee in small amounts.
Eight cups or so seems the point of good taste stability. I think that is why store-bought coffee seems to taste better; it is usually made in larger quantities.

What Do You Think?
