Honestly speaking my PC question(s) are not limited to elderly people only, as it is about e.g the splitting of my HD; now C:\, into C: and D:\ partitions. I have Norton Ghost 10, but the manufacturer himself mentions several occasions when/where things may go wrong. Moreover I am no PC expert. I hope you are willing to send me a reply.
