This is encouraging. What about EBT (food stamps or SNAP) capabilities?

QuickBooks also has a similar app called GoPayment. I have it loaded on both my iPhone and BlackBerry. The app is free and then it's a $19.95 monthly fee. In terms of security, they say it meets industry standards for security, all the data is encryted and none is stored on the phone. They said it's like using a website to enter card numbers.

Sounds frightening... would you type in your CC number and all your data into any random guy's mobile phone? I know that the CC is insecure by nature and way outdated, that theoretycally any shop can bug their POS terminal, but this is really the easiest way to cheat.

Having said that, I am a mobile developer and 'do everything and anything with your mobile' type of guy with lots of ideas, but it just sounds wrong. On the other hand people just don't get security, so why not do it. :) But wait... I just figured out a secure (at least trackable) way of doing it! :) The only problem is that it's less convenient and less 'instant' and that's the very reason why people usually ignore security issues.

Chris,
Thanks for the heads up on this app. Look very cool and is certainly a much lower cost than some of the wireless credit card terminals out there.

Great for trade show merchants.

This sounds like a very interesting app. The price is not quite what I expected, but it could be a small price to pay for a business on the go.
