Your sarcasm is demeaning. You show how little you really know about the suit. You did prove however, how people use sarcasm just to cover up their ignorance. Your comments show immaturity and the need for a public speaking class! For being from IA, you sure don’t seem to know that they don’t have southern or hillbilly accents. Time to grow up!

That would be the whole point of why he tore it up on video.. He stands in opposition to there having been this lawsuit, and as such, isn’t claiming monies not owed to him. He’s told us something about his integrity, just as you have done.

Saying you’re a product of your environment assumes that where someone lived had a lifetime influence in creating some kind of static personality — nothing is static.

He’s not cutting himself down by making fun of a completely frivolous lawsuit fueled by some state populated by plebeians. If anything, he’s asserting pride for what he perceives as a positive shift in his life’s direction over what he COULD have become if he stayed in Iowa longer than he had.

Just so you know when you cut down the area you grew up in you are essentially cutting yourself down due to the fact that you are a product of your environment. I have lived in many states as an adult and if I had a choice at this time I would move back to IA in a heart beat.

There was a comment about attorneys getting fees in all this.

I am not an attorney, nor do I especially care about most of them, I
think some of the lawyer jokes are closer to the truth than many of them
would like to believe.

We all need attorney’s unless we posess the legal expertiese to handle all
of our legal affairs, necessary evil even though not all of them are evil.
99 out of 100 give the one that’s not a bad wrap.

I’m not a big fan of Microsoft but use it almost exclusively at work since
that’s what my employer said we have to use. Use it at home until I can
afford a $3,000. MAC. Don’t want the learning curve of Linus Thankyou.

Microsoft has a monopoly and probably always will, like the Electric and
the Waste Water and regular water companies, what are we going to do
about those, freeze or scorch to death while refusing to pay for water to
drrink or holding our sphincters so we won’t have to use the WWTP’s
because they are monopolies, I think not. Get Real.

At this point, Microsoft is not a company that is at the slightest whims of the market. They have essentially no competition on the desktop. Ever read into why that is? I don’t think being a “good company” quite explains it. In any case, ripping up that claim form was even more futile than what this settlement sought to accomplish. And it’s certainly not something worth waiting years for if you ask me.

The market will utlimately decide? Not when a behemoth like Microsoft can “game” the market to its advantage. I have always kept receipts and other documentation for all hardware and software I have bought since 1993. I don’t live in Iowa, but where I live, some time ago, there was a class action settlement for purchasers of Windows 95 and Microsoft Office 97. I think I got about $100. Without discussing the merits of lack thereof, of the class action suit, I used my $100 to buy more software, and Microsoft was able to write off the cost of the settlement as a business expense. While there are many class action lawyers who are greedheads, there are many who perform valiant service for those who could not afford to go forward with a legitimate suit by themselves.
