Michael L. Robertson is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Linspire, Inc., a consumer software company that creates choice in the marketplace by offering the world’s most affordable software. Linspire and the supporting product line can be found in a variety of retail locations, including Walmart.com.
Robertson is also the Chief Executive Officer of SIPphone.com, a company that harnesses the power of the Internet to allow customers to make free long distance phone calls. SIPphone was launched August 6, 2003.
Robertson’s past ventures include his tenure as Founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board at MP3.com from March 1998 to August 28, 2001. As the mastermind of MP3.com, Robertson established the largest collection of digital music in the world, amassing more than 1 million downloadable MP3 files. Robertson also spearheaded change in corporate business music services and put the power of CD creation in artists’ hands by offering a host of support technologies and services.
