I recently had the exact same problem with the exact same router. The problem is that you have to have LAN access of some sort to the box in order to re-flash the firmware. To do this, explicitly set your NIC to 10Mbps half-duplex, plug the router in, let it do it's little diag thing, then hold the reset button for 30 seconds. It should then respond on the default IP address of 192.168.1.1, at which point you can re-flash the firmware. When finished, all of your previous settings will be re-enabled.

I did the exact smae thing to my router when I updated it's ROM. I fixed it by reflashing it with the old default password and it worked just fine afterwards.

You're putting Windows on that laptop? What's the point? I'd much rather know how it handles another (read:real) Linux distribution.

Welcome to my world. I've had worse days. Dropping cameras, breaking them. Losing data. Believe me, consider yourself lucky.

What were you thinking Chris? Why would you buy the old Linksys Wireless Router when you could be getting the new Linksys Wireless G router for less than $130? I guess you'll also be taking the "crapped" out router back to CompUSA. :)
