MapPoint Not Perfect
Just wanted to give you some feedback on your 2/15/02 Windows Daily. Tried
MapPoint a couple of times here in the metro DC area. I will be the first
one to tell you that Northern Virginia leaves a lot to be desired when in
comes to signage, and street engineering in general, so directions can be a
little challenging. That said, MapPoint is terrible at giving directions
here in Fairfax County, VA.
It is very fast, as you say, but misses a few key points, such as indicating
a turns onto roads that are physically miles apart from each other. I tried
a few known addresses, and MapPoint flat out gives wrong directions. Can't
recommend it for this area. Just a data point. [Charles Eu]

I've had the best luck with mapsonus.com although they don't have the name recognition or interfaces the big boys do I've been unable to beat their maps (online/free) especially for small towns in Minnesota, they are the only one I've found that correctly identifies the street names (important). Try them!
