Macworld or Hawaii?

Yes, I’m in Hawaii right now, enjoying the sunny weather. I thought I’d share with everyone the five reasons I’d rather be here in Hawaii, instead of at Macworld.

  • If I need to update my iPhone, I can do that from anywhere. I don’t need to be at Macworld to upgrade something. I’m sitting here using my wireless broadband connection right from the cruise ship. So, I’ll be able to download any updates!
  • In Hawaii, there are no smelly Mac geeks. This is true! I’ve read it in Wikipedia! Mac and PC Geeks alike have a “bouquet” about them. Have you ever left eggs out too long? Well, that’s the Mac geek smell. That’s not here in Hawaii.
  • A Mac Pro wouldn’t fit inside my luggage. I’m planning to get one, but don’t want to buy it from Macworld. I wouldn’t be able to take it with me.
  • There are no Pina Coladas at Macworld. Pina Coladas… or Macworld? You decide.
  • You can’t beat the view here in Hawaii. It’s amazing, and absolutely gorgeous. Later today, I’ll be climbing a mountain… or not.

I would be at Hawaii, I went to MacWorld the other day to search for a new computer and no luck :/. But, I’ve never been to Hawaii and I would love to go!

I’d rather be in Hawaii myself. How did you score a cruise in Hawaii? My fiance and I have been pricing out cruises for our honey-moon trying to keep it around the $1600 / person range.

A geek cruise would be awesome, though not really honey-moon material.

Reasons I’m not going to MacWorld

1.Im 13. Does it sound like I can drive?

2. My family hates Macs. Some of their claims are legit, but others are just pointless.

3. Even if I saw the coolest Mac ever at MacWorld, I couldn’t buy it.
At $7.50 (American) a week allowance it would take me (roughly) 222.167 years to save up enough to get the Mac Pro the way I would configure it.

Well anyways, thanks for listening to me gripe. Cant wait until Chris is back in the lower 48.

5. Im in Seattle, Macworld is in San Fransisco, i have no means to get down there.
4. I have school, yep, last week of the semester so everything is due, no missing a day this week.
3.I know i would get thrown out for over excitement when they announce the first change in just about anything.
2.too late to book flight
1. IM BROKE!!! im 17 in high school and jobless, no way in hell i can even get to Tacoma with the little money i have. (maybe to SODO thats about as far south)
maybe next year i can get in s an independent photojournalist trying to catch that one story that will put me on top. maybe the backstory is a bad idea, but yeah….

id rather be in hawaii myself lol. not just because im against what apple does and their software but, i dont need to go somewhere to see a $20 iphone firmware update., sorry. i shouldnt of bought that thing, i knew itd come back to kick me. i mean i payed alot of money for it, and then they charge me to update it?

I do have to say that I’d love to visit MacWorld, yet Hawaii would win my vote, as it’s more quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
I couldn’t survive with a lot of noise. I’d rather have peace and tranquility. It’s what vacation is about, rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.

I agree. I would much rather be in Hawaii. I have been studying volcanology in school, and would rather see Mount. Kilimanjaro then go to macworld.

Each video has it’s “tough guy” comments, but it’s concerning when those comments are in this case “what a loser going on a nice beautiful vacation when you could be trapped in a room with people you dont want to be with (a.k.a macworld)” It’s crazy.

I didn’t go to Macworld, because I was in Hawai’i too. But we do have smelly Mac fans here too, you know.
