Absolutely not. Apple computers are multimedia power houses, and the applications that can be run on them surpass most if not all Stop- motion and Media Editing apps for PC. You don’t need to beef up your computer for stop- motion at all.

Mac’s and PC’s are basically just as good right now for stop motion films. There is a new Mac software called Dragon Stop Motion that is supposedly a good program for Mac’s. I haven’t tried it since I only have a PC.

The best software for PC’s is Stop Motion Pro. It is actually used by Aardman Animations in the UK “Wallace and Gromit creators” and was made with their input. It’s available for regular consumers in different versions depending on functionality and price.

The most basic program out there for PC’s that is free is called Anasazi that you can get at http://www.animateclay.com.

There is also a free web based capture site at http://pagesperso-orange.fr/vallin/animation/onionskin/onionskin.html.

It really comes down to the available software and not the OS.

Anthony (LegoShark) is actually who pointed me and I’ve been hooked on your blog and your videos ever since.

I, myself am also a “brickfilmer”. I’ve produced several films since I started when I was around 10 years old. LEGO is great because everyone knows about it, and most people even own some (in fact, there’s enough LEGO in the world for everyone on earth to own 52 bricks). I love seeing people’s reactions when they see the little figures move around on the screen.

My cousin was telling me about something he did with his little toy cars like this. Then we watched part of it, he was using the shoot frame feature, and it was cool looking because the cars just sorta moved on their own. I guess if I wanted to see that I could go to YouTube or something and search for car. Anyways, I want to try something like that someday.

Nice! I finally have a use for iStopMotion, a Mac application I got when I bought the MacHeist II bundle back in January. I have a lot of LEGO bricks around and, surely, I will have to learn a lot to do stop motion using the Mac’s iSight camera… but… once I do, I will let you guys know what I’ve done.

This is really cool. I have tried to make animations in Adobe Flash before but, I just not have the patients for it. I could not imagine how long this takes you have to build the set, Make the people, Move then and take pictures of them, upload the pics to your computer (which there is probably thousands of!), and last put them all together. Its cool, you just have to have the patients. :)
