Is it possible to find a lost movie file if it was saved with a non-movie extension? For example, if I had a .mov file but someone inadvertently changed the extension to .xyz but cannot doesn't remember changing it to that extension, is there a way to find that file?

I'm replacing a hard drive and wanted to know if it was necessary to reload OS X before restoring from a clone. Or if there was a way to restore straight to the bare hard drive.

I am trying to see if it is at all possible to strip an old iBook Clamshell and replace the hard drive, ram and stuff so that it is like a new computer, able to run OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard. Is it possible for new components to fit?

I am trying to remotely connect to my work computer (Windows) from home. I was told that I needed to install Remote Desktop for the MAC. Install the dmg file and then find the Remote Desktop file in Applications and run it.
Follow the instructions we did with the PC.

Here is the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx?pid=Mactopia_RDC&fid=CD9EC77E-5B07-4332-849F-046611458871#viewer
When I run it I get an error message stating that I already have Entourage and that I don't have the supporting software to install. I get the following air message "You cannot install Entourage
2008, Web Services Edition Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume." Please help. Thanks in advance.
