true but it is really easy to use as well as final cut pro. I think if your going to video edit you should use either avid or fcp. they are the best

I am going to start making videos on you tube I heard that final cut is not that ez to use I am going to view this video over. I know there are programs that for the money are better.which one of the programs talk about is the better of the two thanks for posting

ha. iMovie is hardly an editor, it is just for putting together clips and making them flow. Aswell as putting a few basic effects.

Yes, Toast is awesome for duplicating CD’s and DVD’s and such but there many freeware and shareware products that work great for working with copy protected DVD’s such as Mactheripper and Handbrake.

i use burn; a free mac software for mac for both audio and video conversion. i also use visualhub(not free) for video conversions too(more options). u can also use itunes; it does certain media conversions too.

Toast, MacTheRipper (free), Handbrake (free), iSquint (free), Visual Hub ($22), iLife ($79), and Final Cut Studio ($1299).

Most can skip the last two.

…and don’t forget the Perian.org plug-in and VLC.

Try VisualHub from Techspansion. It will convert nearly any format to nearly any other format, and it’s ~$24. It will also burn to DVD. It will do pretty much everything you listed above, with the exception of Blu-Ray burning.

Roxio’s Toast is great — I have it — but for basic disc burning operations, the Mac’s Finder does the job well. Just drag the files you want to copy onto a blank disc and choose “Burn” in the window.

I’ve also been trying to locate a good CD burning application for the Mac, I’ll have to give it a shot. I also was not aware of the other applications but I’ll be sure to give them a shot as well.
