Low Carb Geek Blog
I'm thinking – and that's all I'm doing right now – thinking about launching a Low Carb Geek group blog on Lockergnome. But how many low carb geeks are out there?!
GoToAssist lets you provide support to your friends or customers even when they aren't at home. By using the unattended support feature, you can fix their software issues, install their updates, or nearly anything else you would normally do on-site.

I was on the low carb diet a few years ago and lost quite a bit of weight, 60 lbs in 6 months, after that I was on a regular low fat diet which graduated into the see-food diet. I did try the atkins diet again a few months ago but after 3 months I had cravings and gave in! I need support! Start it please!

Well Chris, I am a failing LCG. It has been a rough road, but I am still working on it. But man, sometimes I just have to go “Carb-Wild” ya know? :o)

Go for it Chris! As a diabetic with quite a few too many pounds, Low Carb is the answer for both.

The low carb diet would not work for this geek because I body-build. I only eat good carbs and lots of protein and many small meals a day.

My doctor said Atkins BAD (without dietician assistance) but South Beath is GOOD….just so you know.

I think the better question is: how many geeks out there want to start but need others to show them the way? *raises hand slowly* Think about that.

Do a lot of people actually go on a low carb diet?

With all these opinions/responses, looks like a message board would be better than a blog

Low carb dieting definitely works!! I have been on the Atkins diet for the last 12 months and I have already lost 105 pounds. I've still got more to lose, but I'll get there!! :-)

I'd definitely love to see such a site. As it is, the low carber forums (forum.lowcarber.org) are a great place for information. And for an amazing, inspiring story (not a geek, but still), check out Dan's story and pictures: http://www.lowcarb.ca/stories/story015.html

But to what end? The logical extension of LCG theory is the 'Thin Geek': defined as a stringy creature with an unnerving sense of excitement around technology. Not that I'm suggesting 'Geekus Thinilogicous' is a species we should fear, just that those piously pondering a truly low carb existence need to be aware of where they are heading.
Any already thin geeks reading this can seek counselling at http://www.jasonbradbury.com

I've been on a low carb diet for over 2 years. Started at 275, down to 235, up to 250, about to head back down. Not ideal, but beats anything else. Not cheating too much is the secret. But definitely cheat at least once a month or ya feel totally bummed. And by cheating I mean one of everything on the table that your not supposed to eat most of the time.

I am a diabetic. Atkins has helped me to lose weight and stabilize my blood sugar. The highs are down and the lows are up. I had my tonsils out, so I will be back on in a couple of weeks. One thing that helped me was reading Atkins New Diet Revolution. Chapters 5 and 6 describe exactly the way I gained, my difficulties with losing, and my finally developing diabetes. I have 2 other geek friends that have lost weight with Atkins. Sounds like there are a lot more of us.

With over 15 computers running in our house, a husband with over 500 hard drives, and being into HTML as an amateur since 1997, I think I qualify as a geek. I lost and kept off 45 pounds with a low carb lifestyle and blog about it at Kudos For Low Carb. Count me in if you need a guest blogger.
