E-Mail:

Lookout for Outlook - Look out!

For Microsoft Outlook users: “Lookout is lightning-fast search for your email, files, and desktop works with Microsoft Outlook. Built on top of a powerful search engine, Lookout is the only personal search engine that can search all of your email from directly within Outlook - in seconds. You can use Lookout to search your: Email messages; Contacts, calendar, notes, tasks, etc.; Data from exchange, POP, IMAP, PST files, Public Folders; Files on your computer or other computers.” The direct download link on Microsoft's site works, but here's the irony - if you look on the alleged details page, it currently says: “The download you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying to access this download, you might try the 'Search for a Download' area on the Download Center home page.” Even when you search for it, Lookout doesn't show up. Explain THAT one to me.

Chris:
Your direct download link's been toasted too.

You can download it from here: http://sandbox.msn.com/

You can still download it from LookOut directly, which is where Microsoft bought it from to begin with.

You can find it with Google of course.

A Google Search on Lookout Outlook gives the Microsoft link to download desk top search software based on LookOut the link to down load is
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/desktopsearch/default.mspx

It’s gone. From what I can tell, Majorgeeks has the last remaining link. Get it. Save a copy. If you use Outlook, you’ll be glad you did.

Would Microsoft’s “Desktop Search” be the replacement? Searching within Outlook 2007 is not even possible unless you install it.

The successor of Lookout is most probable successor might be LOOKEEN. You can find it here http://www.lookeen.com!

Hi Benjamin,
I had also problems with office 2007 and Lookout and I totally understand your concern! But I can hush you – you have a 14 day free trail of Lookeen! So check it out - I think this software will exceed your expectations!! ;-)

Hey

Well lookeen is very simliar to outlook. Although I think it is better ;). You can also search your mails, contacts, calendar, notes…
It searches very quickly and the results are listed in a very logical way. I think the best is, to install the trial-version and check it out on your own.

What Do You Think?
