Logbrolling

How insane are you? For one, you're visiting this Web site. But beyond that, to what lengths will you go to have full control over your blog? If you're anything like Chris Dinges, you'd use nothing but Notepad. That's the way he's been getting things done with his online journal, ya know. Far be it from me to chastize the Notepad coders. That's what I use, after all. But for a blog? That's almost unheard of nowadays.
So is bashing Apple. Seems that every other blogger (and media outlet) has been drooling over the new iMac. Not my good buddy, Oliver, though. “It's well known that many people got harmed by repeatedly trying to move… their old-fashioned CRT displays.” Heh. It's so true! You know, I can't help but wonder if there are more “Macintosh user” bloggers out there? I'm running Windows XP. So far, so good. It's the perfect machine with which to go googlewhacking.
Hey! Remember when I was telling you about that David Gagne dude? Check this out: “A few months ago I was a contestant on The Weakest Link. The show is so ridiculously popular that NBC decided to syndicate it. There is now a daytime version with an annoying American host.” Heh. Sweet. Thanks to frequent Pirillo-poster and fellow blogger, Christine, for the pointer.

Hey! Thanks for the mention, Chris. Yup, I was on all over the country today. It was so cool to keep getting eMails and phone calls as the show crossed the time zones and bloggers everywhere watched.

Another interesting variation on the theme of “googlewhacking” might be collecting all the google searches which have generated hits on your site and/or blog. Say, all the referrals from Google along with the bizarre-and-weird search string combinations. Call it “googleplucking” or something like that. I think you can come up with a creative term to inspire our fellow bloggers. I plan to create a cgi-script that collects this data automatically and then presents a rolling list of the most recent searches. Check out my recent results for some earth-shattering insights into the psyche of my readers at:

Here's a blog from a Mac user. He lives pretty close to me, I think???
As far as the iMac goes: what's CRT really have to do with it. So the Athlon might be smoke the G4 at 800 mhz. $1800 for the whole pakage with a DVD-RW burner is not that bad of a deal…
