Let's Throw Up Together
I'm eating Zone Perfect bars for breakfast now. It's not front page news, but I'm concerned that the carb count is too high. I'll try these “balanced” snacks for a month, but if I gain any weight, I'll drop them like a bad habit. They're not hydrogenated, but they do contain Fractionated Palm Kernel Oil (which, as I understand, is fine). Just thought I'd get this off my chest while I'm waiting to watch Chey's barfy segment on the CFH rerun. She be my gnome girl!

I tried those. They're awful. I eat soy bars for breakfast and lunch often… Zone was terrible. Atkins takes getting used to and I only like a couple of flavors.
Off to DC. Keep an eye on my buddies for me.

Meryl, are you talking Zone bars or Zone Perfect? Zone Perfect are the ones that we have and they're not like the typical sickening soy mash bars that so many of the other protein bars are.
These are actually like rice krispie bars inside… not bad, not bad at all!

Chris, you are so funny.
I have absolutely no idea how you get up everyday and be on television. I could NEVER do that. So don't even ask me out!!
I have enough trouble dealing with criticism from the cashiers at QuickTrip where I buy my newspaper at 6 am.
I do eat a protein bar at the gym to keep from throwing up. I read about it in Men's Health,. and flex abit infront of idiots “Strike a pose, posser!” (That's the magazine where everyone is so beautiful that… well, the I'm am just ugly).
Which brings me to a funny story. My Executive Director (also a gymboy) got a wonderful box of those CO2 frozen Omaha Steaks for Christams this year. Needless to say, his director doesn't know him very well ( he's Vegan) The steaks were weird, but I think I've gottem him talked into a mid-night dumpster raid. Or at least a BBQ.

The genisoy bars are pretty good – the zone bars are a little acky for my taste… then of course the protein shake I have to drink every morning to combat hypoglycemia would made a goat puke ;) No sugar + high protein = so nasty its made my husband run for the hills whenever I offer him a sip :)

…followed Ryan's link (above) and I could just picture Chris' blood boil…
“My Recommendations: Switch immediately to a starch-based diet. Eat, eat, and eat. All that you can hold. In fact, the more you eat the healthier and trimmer you will be.”

Gretchen, I believe they were plain ol' Zone Bars. I haven't seen Zone Perfect. Will keep my eyes open for 'em. Thanks for the lead.
