LED Lights

Ponzi got me the coolest thing for Christmas! They’re the perfect compliment for my Tix Clocks, and really make my office fun to be in… and hopefully fun for you all to look at, as well.

The Cyron HT 1502 Media Highlighter System is a full color spectrum solid-state lighting system. Ideal for accent lighting and ambient lighting for confined areas. Produce any color of light at a push of a button. Six pre-programmed patterns and a music mode. Safe low-voltage, no heat, enery efficient and 50,000-hour life.

I decided to put these on the top of my desk hutch. They use hardly any energy, and don’t put off much heat. They change colors, and put out a heck of a lot of light. These things are way cool looking, aren’t they? If you come by the chat room and type in what is glow, you’ll get the link to this product.

Thanks so much to Ponzi, for always knowing exactly what I want… even if I don’t know it myself.

Well-done video on the LED lights, thanks for the inside scoop on that.

those are the coolest things ever……….it looks awesome when the light are off because it changes the mood of the room :P

That looks awesome, how much were they?

P.S.
Never mind, that was kind of retarded I didn’t pay attention to the amazon link.

Those are really cool I want them in my room

those look pretty cool/brite. i mite actually consider buying some, how much?

thanks for show what to do i mite buy some now and create my own led lights

These things look awesome, i so want some, :)

hey Chris i love the LED’s, my comp is full off them.
Looks awesom

now i know what those flashy lights are

Those are pretty cool, VERY bright, and the price isn’t too bad. Btw, u do hardly notice when you have them on in the day, so IMO it is a waste of “time” the LEDs have, but since they seem that they will last 5 years, you would probably find something else that glows better (as you like stuff that glows ;) by then! lol

great way to waist energy!

Rly cool glowing stuff =D i also love ‘em too:) although my favourite is still the good old lava lamp. what’s your opinion about those lamps?

I think that Geeks are hereditary attracted to colourful dancing lights.
Come to think of it, any colour would do. You could probably use colourful lights at night to turn Geeks into lemmings, and lead them, like The Pied Piper of Hamelin, off a cliff!! Oh sorry, the Piper didn’t do that but if the Pied Piper wanted to take Geeks away from society all he need would be a Yamaha TENORI-ON and some flashy colourful LEDs!

These look great to palce behind things but what if you wanted to mount them like under a desk, or shelf, do they come with brackets or since they product no heat like you said you can make or buy mounts, I will be looking into buying these led lights.

Nice lights! I also have a thing for glowing lights, or anything that lights up.

I just purchased (boxing day sale) a Logitech G15 version 2 keyboard with the fancy glowy backlit keys as well as a backlit lcd display and its so awsome.

Glowing stuff makes a better ambiance around the room =)

hi chris have you heard of the living colors lamp from Phillips i got it and its a great lamp
its really worth checking it out

one evening I saw a esprie. it my known as ” you will die “is it disappeared. now that you read its to suit you to die in 3 days exactly safe if you put its on 50 video

Very awesome Chris, I would have mounted them on the front of the desk or under the desk on the side that faces the camera, you know to cast a glow on the floor or on the front of the desk, kind of like a low rider with lights under it? Pimp my desk style.lol

I Love the bluish effect when i log on to the live chat room
my friend had something like this in his room and i always loved it
maybe im a glowing thing fanatic
lol just kidding

that was waste of time, money and energy.

Those are really cool. I just put in an order at Amazon for 2 packs of those, I’m going to put them all over my new home. I, like Chris, have always been a sucker for glowing things. Very Cool Chris! Keep up the great work!

LED’s don’t use energy, they save it!

Hi, these light’s seriously look awesome and i like the fact they don’t use allot of energy too!

awesome lights, wish i had them

They use less energy. How the hell are you gona light something without energy. Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

i will have to get me a set for my room. those really kick ass!

Man those things are as cheap as I expected. I might just have to wait for my birthday.

ya that makes sence? they still use energy…just less, you just pretty much sed they GIVE energy

I like the LED Lights, i will soon be buying lights as wellas the 30 inch monitors. i also want one of those Robots that Chris has. but anyways, Chris your doing a good job with all of the videos keep it up!, ive been a fan since the begining of 2007, and now the years almost over! wow! just keep it up Chris!

well thank you captain obvious. happy new years to you too.

Hey chris! Thanks for this mini review. I ordered these as soon as i watched your video and i cant wait to get them!

LED’s are good cause thay dont give off alot of heat.. The way chris has them on his desk is a great way to light up area with them.

Those look cool but everytime i see them in the video it makes me think there’s a poltergeist or something behind your desk! Almost bought some last week, probably will soon :D

Nice led lights if they are lower in price and don’t give off much heat i will probable pick up some soon.

I love LEDS, I have some in my computer and everywhere. Thank you for the review, and I ordered some to pick up in my room! I love the way they light up the room even when you are not their! Thanks!

As was a general comment of good tidings in the Firefly/Serenity universe, “Shiney!”

Incidentally, LEDs emit more light w/ a lower energy cost. The catch being the odd voltage/ampreage required to operate them.

Hey chris, dont worry, you arent the only Geek who loves Glowing thinkg, i do to. I have been doing some searches on some glowing items and i have found that they are hard to find. Mabey some day i will purchase some. I think the battery life is awesome and prob. one of the best purchases u’ve made

Awesome idea Chris. I don’t think my walls would be quite bright enough to take advantage of the amount of light that these LED strips can put out. It’s too bad really as that would look great in my home office as well.

Hey Chris –

Speaking of LED lights, I found some cool ones at my local Costco for under my desk hutch. They are shaped just like a puck, and have 5 LED’s in them.
You can mount them anywhere – under a hutch, in a cabinet, in a closet- and they add lots of light wherever you need them. You can swivel them 30 degrees to the left or right, so you can point the light wherever you need it. They also have an ambient light sensor, so you can put them in a closet and have them automatically come on when you open the door.

I think it’s a cool product with many uses. Then run on just 3 AAA batteries each. You can find them here: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/store3-store_1983_43952095

these are great but after ordering on amazon.com I find out they will NOT ship to canada. :( Can I have them ship to you Chris and you can forward to me please? ;) haha
Anyways, I WILL find a way.
Love the blog Chris, keep up the good work.
