LEAVE ME ALONE…?
Yes, I get it - this video is a parody.
I think Tuesday Night Tech has been trying to get my attention, and they’ve succeeded. Seems that their sense of humor is right up my alley, whether they’ve been slagging on me or not. I’ve had virtually no time to digest my podcast subscriptions, let alone listen / watch new ones.
I’ve been looking into FeedDemon alternatives for OS X - and I’m not finding many of ‘em. Tried Google Reader and it totally choked on me (sorry, Scoble). Vienna looks promising. Trying a new newsreader is like trying on a new pair of pants.
Hey, at least I don’t go around wearing NES consoles on my head:

Reader can be like that at first, but give it a day or two and you’ll love it.

I’ve been using Vienna for a few weeks now and I like it a lot.
I tried Google Reader…it didn’t choke on me, but I choked on it, so to speak. I didn’t like the user interface at all, and on the whole I think I’d rather use a separate RSS client than use one within the browser.
There is one problem I’ve run across, though. I recently started dual-booting OS X and Kubuntu, and since then I’ve realized that I can’t read RSS feeds in Linux—or at least if I do, then the same RSS feeds I read in Linux will be marked as unread in OS X because I won’t have read them there. Google Reader would solve this problem because it would all be on the server. On the whole, though, Vienna is worth it to me.
I’m only subscribed to 31 feeds, though; I don’t know how well Vienna handles larger numbers.

I’ve had performance issues with Vienna so I tried NetNewsWire Lite (a free version of NetNewsWire) and I love it. It’s very simple, but it’s exactly what I wanted.
Newer versions of Vienna have been released since I tried it, so I guess performance is better now, but it still has more features than NetNewsWire Lite that I don’t need, so I’m sticking with that Lite one.

NetNewsWire is by far the best newsreader on OS X. They have a lite version you can try. Vienna is good too, but NetNewsWire is truly a great piece of mac software. I have almost 100 feeds, and I’m able to keep up with almost all of them. I barely even use a browser anymore.

I like reader because I use two different computers equally. I would hate to have one computer be in charge of RSS feeds only, and that’s why google reader works very well for me.

Vienna works great for me on my MacBook with 2GB RAM - it’s sitting there with over 5,000 articles for me to read right now :-( but at least it just chugs along in the background beautifully!

Chris, if we can’t make fun of you can you suggest anyone? How about Leo Laptop, did I spell that right? Or Robert Scrabble, whatever his name is? I get so confused by all these techno freaks.

Yea, you found us! L-E wasn’t put up to that video, we swear-that just appeared in our inbox one day and we still watch it at least once a day! You’re always welcome to pop over to our show on Tuesday nights, only on Ustream.tv and we will conduct a fair and balanced interview (doesn’t Fox news say that?). Or even better, record us a small video or audio clip and we can play it over and over and over…

So it seems I have been discovered! I did a little video for Tuesday Night Tech about how they should leave Chris Pirillo alone. Well it seems Chris has found the video! Here is a link to his blog discussing it lol!http://chris.pirillo.com/2007/10/10/leave-me-alone/

Yeah this would be the crazy girl that made the video… LOL! Yeah I thought it would be kinda funny for tuesday night tech. It’s hilarious that you saw it. By the way some of your mods were quite rude to me the other night in your chat. Even though I didn’t do anything wrong. Kinda insulted :(

NNW has always had issues parsing RSS feeds. Issues that other readers have not had. And today it’s a monster blowing the whole RSS thing out of proportion. So “great piece of software”? No. Great piece of b*tchy bloat is more like it.
