LeapFrog Toys
Where was LeapFrog when I was growing up? We were lucky to have those “turn the page now when you hear R2-D2 beep like this” read-along records. They need to start making toys for all ages. What about a LeapPad for subjects like… the stock market, buying a home, or having kids so that you can buy more LeapFrog electronic toys? Oh, I'm sorry - learning systems. I remember when Speak 'N Spell was state of the art! LeapFrog totally leapfrogged 'em, indubetably. Now, see - if I had LeapFrog toys as a kid, I might have spelled that word correctly. I might also have been president of the world with the Leapfrog Globe.

I was one of those kids that spent hours trying to get his Motley Crue tapes to work in Teddy Ruxpin. Turns out it would only work the tapes designed for that toy. I was a kid at this time, so I of course did not want to accept this.
Ya, those leap frog deal are cool though. As for the Speak- and -Spell, heh, I took my brother's apart to see what the hardware looked like. Ah, the memories..

Best LeapFrog toy that we have so far is the refrigerator letters. They are the typical magnet letters that everybody has, but they come with a player box. Put the letter on the player, and it sings a song about itself — “A! A says “ayy”, and A says “ack”. Every letter makes a sound, A says “ayy!” (It doesn't really say “ack” but I couldnt' decide how to spell the short A vowel sound).
My 2.5 yr old has been using it for trial and error when looking for a letter. She turns it off, inserts a letter, turns it on just long enough to hear the name of the letter, then turns it off again to avoid the song. Then she puts in another letter.
