With the introduction of autumn (also known as the best season, ever), it means that Halloween is soon to follow. This is when the creeps and the goblins and the clowns and the ogres and the witches and the demons and the werewolves and the freaks and the mutants and the barbarians and the superheroes and the pirates and the ewoks and the princesses and the cowboys and the troglodytes and the gargoyles and the gremlins and the stormtroopers and the ghosts and the wizards and the elves and the scarecrows and the wraiths and the Frankenstein monsters and the mobsters and the ghouls and the hobos and the vikings and the zombies and the soldiers and the warlocks and the bunnies and the supervillains and the ninjas and the Jedi and the cops and the robbers and the vampires and the Grim Reapers and the Starfleet officers and the skeletons and the aliens and the teletubbies and the pharaohs and the lumberjacks and the geishas and the riverboat captains and the phantoms and the knights and the referees and the divas and the polar bears and the highlanders and the wookiees and the matadors and the centurions and the aviatrixes and the steampunks and the inquisitors and the orcs and the dandies and the highwaymen and the sports heroes and the banditos and the robots and the rock stars and the angels and the astronauts and the convicts and the apparitions meander from house to house in search of treats…

…or tricks? It all depends on their disposition toward what you have to offer. You don’t want to be the house that hands out pennies or apples. That kind of stuff was fine in the ’30s, but today’s kids are more sugar dependent and may short circuit right there on your front porch if you fail to fork over the proper sacrifice.
