Korg Kaossilator for Easy Music Creation

My latest musical gadget is the Korg KAOSSILATOR. It’s a dynamic phrase synthesizer. Anyone can instantly play musical phrases by simply tapping or sliding their finger across the KAOSSILATOR’s Touch Pad.

This pocket sized music synthesizer is like nothing we’ve seen before. Rather than using keys or buttons to play musical notes, the Kaossilator features a revolutionary touchpad design. Move your finger from left to right to change the pitch of the note, and up and down to change the sound. But musical sounds are only the beginning, the Kaossilator can also be used like a drum kit with dozens of built in beats and drum sounds. Plus you get some amazing sound effects from laser blasts to Pac Man. You can put everything to good use with the built-in loop recording feature which lets you layer virtually unlimited tracks to create complex songs combining lead instruments, drum beats and sound effects together.

Pick up a fucking GUITAR and learn to play some REAL GODDAMNED MUSIC, you stupid fucking geek: you know NOTHING about music.

what are you talking about i enjoy his music

you know, even if the music is wierd,it doesn’t mean it’s not music, and what do you mean by that. only guitar can make music,

oh yeah btw, he knows music, i heared the background music when he’s not recording music

They Might Be Giants just gave an interview saying how this was one of their useful “unsung hero” gadgets, along with the stylophone.

Oh man, I really want one of those. Stop making me want to spend money, Chris. D:

I know, they say its rude

Can you save your creations on like a memmory card.

Lolz
chris try to make the mario theme song!
:D

Sweet. I have a Korg Triton, one of their full sized keyboards. They are a great company. If u look carefully when concerts are shown on TV u usually see the big Korg name on the front of the keyboard! This looks fun when u can’t bring ur 88 key monster along w/ you.

dang that thing is cool. really nice.

It’s good not to see your face for once!
Pirillo you fugly bastard!

lol, on 7:37 he made the perfect “Dreiklang” from NBC GIGA

xD

anyone know if u can change the beat in th background? ill go ask in live chat.

The interface is not s cool as the famous teniori-on. Also 200 bucks is a waste if you can’t save it to a external midea device. Man but jeez 1200 bucks for a tenori0n ill just save up a bit more to get a professional trumpet.

Sounds and looks nice Chris! :)

I’m actually a drummer / piano player and I’ve been looking around for some nice hardware to work with in my studio. If you like this device, you should check out the Korg PadKontrol or, even better, the AKAI MPD24.

You can see in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tA1lZjFzgI8 that it really sounds good and doesn’t take a lot of learning to get you started :)

Best wishes from Iceland,

Interesting and fun as a thing to fiddle with, however if you enjoy making instantly satisfying music I would prefer a beat/drum machine. Personally the Zoom SB-246 StreetBoxx.

While you can’t modify the sounds like a synthesizer you can easily add/delete instruments and play dynamically-live.

That looks like tons of fun. I’ve tried creating music in Tabit, (music creation program) but I’m no good. The Korg Kaossilator looks so much simpler.

Once again, you’ve made me want to spend my hard earned money on a neat gadget.

That thing is sweet, I want one.

which is better KAOSSILATOR or Tenorion?

that thing looks pretty cool. it kinda reminds me of the casio VL-Tone keyboard from the 80’s; except that this blows the VL-Tone away.

the “friggin” scale?

j/k, I know the phrygian scale

question on korg kaosiltor…can u record music beats to cpu or a memory card

I was waiting for this to be posted, I love it and I am in it! and ponzi loved my responses about willy wonka lol. When I get the money I am getting one of these :)

I think that is way cooler than tenori-on.

how do you subscribe a username for his site?

Yes! I so want one. Only Korg gadget I have is an X5D keyboard, which I still love after all the years of use. Anything Korg is the shiznit.

pansi seems sort of…….idk…….obese maybe

nice
wow i need 1 of those

no kidding you are not a musician.

i personaly think the kaoss pad kp 2 is better i know its more an effects prcoesser but the synth sounds are good

still preaty cool gaget

KP3 wins the race so far.

i prefer the kp2s sounds though the kp3 is cool i find the kp2 better in some ways

but just a matter of opinion i spose

Yeah, propably. The thing that conviced me is the 4 sampler buttons (KP3) instead of 2 (KP2). i dont know much about effects in KP2 tho.

you can record it into cpu if using proper software. then you can use the sounds in other applications or hardware.

yeah true but i cant really aford a kp3 aswell so i just use midi samplin
