Korg Kaossilator for Easy Music Creation

My latest musical gadget is the Korg KAOSSILATOR. It’s a dynamic phrase synthesizer. Anyone can instantly play musical phrases by simply tapping or sliding their finger across the KAOSSILATOR’s Touch Pad.
This pocket sized music synthesizer is like nothing we’ve seen before. Rather than using keys or buttons to play musical notes, the Kaossilator features a revolutionary touchpad design. Move your finger from left to right to change the pitch of the note, and up and down to change the sound. But musical sounds are only the beginning, the Kaossilator can also be used like a drum kit with dozens of built in beats and drum sounds. Plus you get some amazing sound effects from laser blasts to Pac Man. You can put everything to good use with the built-in loop recording feature which lets you layer virtually unlimited tracks to create complex songs combining lead instruments, drum beats and sound effects together.

Sweet. I have a Korg Triton, one of their full sized keyboards. They are a great company. If u look carefully when concerts are shown on TV u usually see the big Korg name on the front of the keyboard! This looks fun when u can’t bring ur 88 key monster along w/ you.

The interface is not s cool as the famous teniori-on. Also 200 bucks is a waste if you can’t save it to a external midea device. Man but jeez 1200 bucks for a tenori0n ill just save up a bit more to get a professional trumpet.

Sounds and looks nice Chris! :)
I’m actually a drummer / piano player and I’ve been looking around for some nice hardware to work with in my studio. If you like this device, you should check out the Korg PadKontrol or, even better, the AKAI MPD24.
You can see in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tA1lZjFzgI8 that it really sounds good and doesn’t take a lot of learning to get you started :)
Best wishes from Iceland,

Interesting and fun as a thing to fiddle with, however if you enjoy making instantly satisfying music I would prefer a beat/drum machine. Personally the Zoom SB-246 StreetBoxx.
While you can’t modify the sounds like a synthesizer you can easily add/delete instruments and play dynamically-live.

That looks like tons of fun. I’ve tried creating music in Tabit, (music creation program) but I’m no good. The Korg Kaossilator looks so much simpler.
Once again, you’ve made me want to spend my hard earned money on a neat gadget.

that thing looks pretty cool. it kinda reminds me of the casio VL-Tone keyboard from the 80’s; except that this blows the VL-Tone away.

Yeah, propably. The thing that conviced me is the 4 sampler buttons (KP3) instead of 2 (KP2). i dont know much about effects in KP2 tho.
