It Makes Cents to Me

I decided to explain a bit more about why I openly support Google AdSense (and not just because they helped sponsor Gnomedex). I can't be the only indpendent content publisher out there who believes it's better than sliced bread?! UPDATE: Marc may very well be onto something…

Can you tell me a good source for learning how to “use” the AdSense model. All I come across is the people who try to make money off of selling books on how to use Google.

Are you wanting to be an advertiser, or a publisher?
If publisher, then basically you want to create a decent content site on a topic of high interest. Find any nationally known product category and you will find sites that people have put up like “shopping comparison” or “product information” sites–they are all designed to make money serving adwords ads.
Any info-packed specialty site that can draw traffic can make money.
If you want to be an online retailer/advertiser, build a great web site (info-heavy) and sell products that can't easily be “shopped” online. (Get rid of brand names where possible, relabel stuff with your own brand name, etc. You want exclusivity.) Sell products that are comparable to famous names but that you can buy for peanuts.
If you want to make money in online retailing, get the Google Handbook from http://www.page-zero.com.
Alternatively, you can sign up for affiliate programs and hustle other peoples' products by steering traffic to sites that pay commissions. Study this site to see how they do that: http://www.affiliatejackpot.com. Also check out http://www.associateprograms.com.
Online retailing rocks. My online ads are bringing in $2 mil a year and counting.
Either way, there is good money out there.

My Issues with Adsense is they haven't paid me.. Been using them for almost 2 months now, the reports show they owe me $166.89 and I have yet to see a check. If I don't get one soon, I will cancel it.
