SecureStix seems nice to protect your thumb drive and all, but TrueCrypt does all of that and more for free. Protecting thumb drives is nothing as most people either don’t put their entire private collection of data on one or they protect it. Protecting the critical areas of your laptop or desktop drive is the much more important thing to do because those get lost all of the time. TrueCrypt does that really well also.

I really thought this was useful I tried all my passwords and 2 out of my 5 passwords were weak….so I changed them…..now all 5 of my passwords are all strong…..I forward this video to some of my friends…..I also thought that the SuperGenPass was pretty cool…….just remember “your only as strong as your weakest link”

Good topic. Most of us don’t adhere to the rules when choosing a password. When was the last time you saw a good Unix admin type a password less then 10 character with a couple of symbols in there? Sound advice!

My firend guessed my password… I need to change it. It’s not super obvious, but he does know me…

Just be responsible with the passwords. I can’t say much else.

well chris thank you for this site. I have always hade a problem wondering if my password was good enough and would keep my content safe. Now if I have any doubts I will just go to this site and test it out for myself.

This site is not that effective because simply typing in my birthday gave a score of 92%. Any person who was intent on trying to figure that information out would probably try something like that first. Also, since a word that may be quick to recall for you but near impossible for anyone else to figure out like hemoglobin gives a score of 6%, it isn’t very accurate.

Nice one! Just make your password public so that you are under a comfort feel that its strong.

Next you know, it will be put into some dictionary for standard dictionary based attacks.
