Is White Noise the Right Noise?

White noise is relaxing, isn’t it? If you’ve never listened to it, you might want to start. Some people prefer to have a television or radio on when they try to sleep. The problem with that is you end up focusing your attention on it, instead of letting your mind drift and relaxing. We have friends who insist on having a white noise machine in their bedroom. My assistant, Kat is so addicted to sleeping with a fan noise, she takes a small travel fan with her on the road.
If you don’t want to spend money on a white noise machine, there are several options. Do you have an old television set? Plug it in and turn it to a channel that doesn’t come in. There are CDs and MP3s full of nothing but white noise sounds. Or, you can use your browser and head over to SimplyNoise.
SimplyNoise is a website that is exactly that… simply noise. Slide the little lever back and forth to create your desired level of noise, and that’s all there is to it. What would you use white noise for?
- Aid Sleep
- Enhance Privacy
- Block Distractions
- Mask Tinnitus
- Configure Audio Equipment
- Soothe Migraines
Don’t be surprised if you tune into my stream and hear this noise in the background. I always need to relax!
