Is This the World’s Smallest Remote Control Helicopter?

The MX-1 Remote Control Helicopter from ThinkGeek really does fit in the palm of my hand. It is so much fun to fly around the office and house. I just have to be careful to not let Ponzi catch me tormenting the dogs with it.

Our ravenous lust for tinier and tinier flying R/C toys has been temporarily satiated by these miniscule MX-1 copters from Silverlit. We thought we had seen small R/C copters until we were flabbergasted by a helicopter so small it actually fits inside its own remote. The MX-1 is a sharp looking little copter and it has a redesigned remote with smooth slider like controls. Dock the copter in the clear bay at the bottom and charge it up at the same time. Take to the air with confidence knowing that you’re piloting the smallest manmade flying device commercially available.

Important Note:
The MX-1 is a 2 channel copter so it is always moving forward slowly. You control up/down and right/left turns. Due to the dynamics of the helicopter right turns are wider than left turns. If you want the MX-1 to move forward faster you can add a bit of weight to the front of the nose. Of course careful use of the trim buttons at the beginning of each flight is pretty much a necessity. Practice up on your flying skills if you hope to challenge the expert pilots at the ThinkGeek world headquarters of doom.

It’s definitely an inside toy. It’s very lightweight, and I have a feeling you’d ruin it outside. It takes 20-30 minutes to charge, and will run for over five minutes straight. Make sure you duck when you’re playing with this chopper. We don’t want anyone to get hurt! Oh, and watch out for the dogs.

Hi, I think it is a very good toy for 50 dollars, i like it because you don’t even have to go outside to play with it, although i would be careful not to break anything inside my house lol. but anyways I would sure buy it to kill boredom :)

Great little item however the seller is less than intelligent, refusing to honour a deal being paid by Pay Pal because their view of the acct shows little balance and does not show the bank balance. As it is they appear to have more view than they should of Pay Pal. I will be checking that out shortly. You would think that people would be more thorough when trying to do business!

I have one of these but I find it so hard to fly, and every time I do try and fly it I end up crashing it and now it doesn’t work normally.

Yea these Helicopters are awesome i have the bigger model cant really play with them inside the house have to go to the park or something but they are really fun definitely boredom killers gonna buy the smaller models and compare the fun probably equally fun :P

get the Air Hog Reflex chopper much better and play time is like 15-20 min but takes 2 hours to charge and its about the same price much more fun

Chris Pirillo is a personality in whom tech enthusiasts trust to answer questions and lead discussions.

SO GOOD OF YOU TO SAY SO! NICE CITATION FROM…

From his self-inspired cartoon logo to his real face on national TV, Chris’s ongoing efforts have provided timely, accurate, and reliable information to the mass market.

OF GROVELLING HIGH SCHOOL NOOBS ON YOUR SPAMMING AND BANAL PAGE

With more people getting connected to the Internet, and an ever-increasing proliferation of decentralized media and self-controlled news sources (e.g., blogs), Chris strives to remain relevant.

REALLY? HOW?

In 1996, Chris Pirillo launched Lockergnome.com, intent on delivering personality-infused tech answers to his audience. In 1998, he authored the authoritative book on e-mail publishing – further establishing himself as a thought leader.

A THOUGHT LEADER? THAT FUCKING SOUNDS LIKE SCIENTOLOGY TO ME. COULD YOU BE ANY MORE IGNORANTLY ARROGANT?

WHO AM 1040, a popular Midwest talk radio station, invited him to start hosting a weekly “tech show” broadcast in early 2000. His presence was ultimately noticed by both talent and executive producers at the television station, TechTV.

WAS IT LATE NIGHT?

He moved from the middle of Iowa to San Francisco in 2001, and began hosting “Call for Help” for them – driving a live, interactive program that focused on solving common technology frustrations.

SUCH AS PEOPLE LIKE YOU POSTING BANAL, HAMMY HYPERBOLIC CR@P WHICH REPEATS ITSELF WITH NO REAL INSIGHT. YOU ARE A LOCKER GNOME. YOU ARE PALTRY. YOU ARE A WART ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET.

With a greater understanding of production and entertainment values, as well as a strong feel for (and connection with) his media audience, Chris left the network shortly before it was absorbed by G4.

ERR YOU MEAN THEY FIRED YOU? DEFEND YOURSELF YOU P()SSY.

Throughout his time at TechTV, his independent businesses continued to flourish. Leading sponsors like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, AMD, GoDaddy, GoToMeeting, PayPal, and others have continually recognized the value of being placed in front of influencers from across the globe.

DID THEY SEND YOU A MULTICOLOURED LED LIGHTBULB?

Chris has consistently expressed his convictions outright, supplying practical information to targeted audiences: IT professionals, Web developers, small business owners, technology consumers, et al. He remains a passionate personality in the tech community-at-large, having become the #1 “chris” on Google and often being asked to sit on various advisory boards.

ARE YOU F()CKING SERIOUS? WHICH ADVISORY BOARDS? MAN, IT CAN’T BE THE PR ONE, YOU’RE COMING ACROSS AS A RIGHT STUCK UP LITTLE SHIT. LEARN SOME FUCKING HUMILITY. YOU FUCKING NOOB.

His approachability, undeniable spirit, and candor have drawn hundreds of thousands of persons to follow him and his recommendations. Without feeling that someone is on their side, customer frustrations will eventually lead to permanent disillusionment.

MATE, WHEN I LOOK AT YOU STICKING A CARTOON OF YOUR OWN FACE TO YOUR LAPTOP I CRINGE.

Chris understands that valid communication is fostered through interpersonal connections. After all, people always trust people more than they trust companies.

DUDE, IF IT WAS MICROSOFT OR YOU, I’D PICK MICROSOFT. I’D PICK THE CIA!!!

As such, he is ready to leverage his skills, connections, and widespread recognition to help give sponsors a friendlier face. He is never short of ideas.

REALLY? ARE YOU SURE? NEVER BEEN STUCK FOR WORDS? MAN, YOU’RE LIKE HOWARD STERN! YOU’RE CREATIVE. YOU’RE TOPICAL. AND YOU’RE FUN.

Would you like to get ahold of Chris?

WITH MY F*CKING HANDS. YOU HORRIBLE LITTLE SHIT.

THIS IS HATE MAIL BABY.

NOW BLOG DAT AND REGAIN SOME BALANCE YOU SELF ANOINTING, ARROGANT LITTLE PIECE OF IGNORANT SUBURBAN AMERICAN BORGEOIS NEUROTIC TRASH

My little cousin got one of those. That sucker hit me in the face.

World’s Smallest???

Maybe the world’s smallest PRODUCTION helicopter,
but there are helicopters being built by r/c guys out there
getting close to the GRAM size…..

Have to watch the hype there, Chris…..

That looks really cool , the only down sound is its battery life 20-30 minutes to charge and 5 minutes , well thats ok , thanks chris .

A young cousin of mine received one of these things as a gift, and I have to say they are very entertaining. 50 dollars sounds kind of on the expensive side, but I suppose its not too bad for RC. I’ve found that sometimes the body gets dented or deformed if you’re a klutzy pilot, even more so if the body is some kind of Styrofoam. Yet another wonderful product from ThinkGeek!
