please date your articles. It’s annoying to read info, then find it out it’s from 2007. Yep iphone is currently different in 2010.

Thank you so much for the port fix – it worked great with my Mac Mail outgoing e-mail. I was searching everywhere for a fix and thanks to you, I can now send my e-mails! Yea!

Thanks, Chris, for the suggestion, which popped straight out of Google when I searched for “iphone smtp port”. This also seems to work if you’re using Google Mail’s smtp server on 465 and configuring it manually with a different pop server: smtp.googlemail.com:465.

Hey, Chris. I was thinking… Since the iPhone has been dubbed a “computer with calling capabilities”, do you think it will be possible in the future to develop an open source software set for the iPhone? Kinda like Linux…? If developers could take the core OS of the iPhone and manipulate/add to/change certain features to benefit particular groups of people, I’d be all for it.

If it is Greg Hughes you are talking about, that would explain it – that’s where I found out about it myself. ;)
