Instant Messaging Insanity
After seeing that I could download MSN Messenger Beta 7.0, I spent an hour or so updating all my MSN preferences - wondering why I couldn't turn off the “Dating” tab or advertisements. Taken, thanks - you stupid, stupid piece of software (read: unintuitive service). I've skipped AIM, too - as well as ICQ. It's Trillian all the way for me. I find it completely inexcusable for these companies to go out of their way to NOT get along with one another. [More]

Here on the other side of the tracks (read: non-windows land), it's mostly AIM or Jabber. Since GAIM supports a whole pile of protocols, it's sort of the Trillian of Unix land.
From my perspective, I do everything from Jabber, which has links to AIM and Yahoo. I don't actually have anyone on MSN that I want to talk to, but I suppose I could enable it if really pushed to the wall. :)

Does all the major ones at once.
Bitwise is singular, but a nice piece of work.
Also found through Lockergnome.
Many thanks and Happy Holidays !!
