I have recently installed the Security Rollup Package 1 for Windows 2000.
One little gotcha with the SRP1 package that caught me was that it
apparently disabled my antivirus program – a potentially serious problem.
The AV program I use is Computer Associates eTrust EZ Antivirus. It would
appear the update knocked out a dll in eTrust, namely ArcLib.dll which
required reinstallation to correct. This may be a coincidence but is
unlikely. Given the size of your readership someone else may be running a
similar setup and run into the same problem. I cannot test this again
because my other machines still run Win98SE. At least it is worth mentioning
especially as I only found out only when running an on-demand virus scan
from the right-click menu.
