Compelling products? These are computers we're talking about here.
My heart goes out to Fred Lnaga and the Pirillo Kid. To be disdained--wotta blow. to be officially disdained, well, damned catastrophic.

You have now officially earned my disdain and I have completely unsubscribed from all the "LockerGnome" newsletters. To suggest, Apple would be a worse monopoly than Microsoft is completely folly. Nobody should be a monopoly in the computing space let alone Apple (or MS for that matter). Why is it that there has to be only one major player in the business? There's plenty of room for multiple players and it would do the industry more good than harm. Having one company control everything is ridiculous. MS has proven that they can't be trusted. Any company would potentially be as bad. Would I want Apple to be bigger than anyone else? NO! However, I do not want them to go away. I suggest you pick up a copy of the very entertaining and insightful book "Infinite Loop" written by Michael Malone. If you want, I will even lend you my copy. Before you make blanket statements about Apple's practice towards cloning, I suggest you get all the facts. Perhaps in the beginning cloning might have been a good thing for Apple, but it appears far too late for that. Apple has made blunders in the past and continues to do that. In spite of this, they do produce compelling products and are the only company willing to take risks to move the industry forward. Is anyone else that bold? MS doesn't innovate. They only watch what happens and copy the successes. What was that tactic called? "Embrace, Extend, and Engulf?" Thank you and good day.

I agree Chris, thought I would like to see one of the new Imacs upclose, and would consider buying one if I could understand the damn software. My brother has a Ibook and has asked me at time to help him, when I do I feel like throwing the thing out the window.
I think that what Apple has done is with its innovations it has changed PC design. Guess PC designers need help to :)
