Firefox will still remain supreme, in my opinion. Microsoft has thus far carried too bad of a reputation in laxidaisical response to problems in IE. The Mozilla Community has always made it a point to jump on problems found in Firefox immediately… That's what people are looking for in a browser – problems (if any exist) being fixed as soon as possible. I don't believe Microsoft can pull itself back up from its current position of being targeted in hatred by Firefox users.

Well, I wonder if it really matters? I mean, if it is not available on other platforms and is not available on Windows Pre XP, what is the sense? A browser for late model and future versions of Windows might be good in several years, but when you have a lot of people still using Windows 95, ME, 2000, they will never get to see this.

i think it will end up as a case of too little too late.
Its going to take something really special to even make me consider swtching to IE from firefox.

From what I've heard, the wrong things are going into IE7. But I don't really know shit. I hear, tabbed browsing, RSS support, but I want to hear CSS, XHTML, XSL.

I would agree that Microsoft is going to pull their act together for IE7. Firefox, Mozilla, and Opera have taken a large enough chunk out of their userbase for them to pay attention to what users have to say.
I'm not a Microsoft and Windows hater as some people out there are. I know both the corporation and operating system have their problems, but overall, I'm a dedicated user. But when it comes to Internet Explorer, they really screwed up. Not so much in as they didn't create a good browser, but more in the fact that they didn't update it correctly and regularly, which gave way to the security issues.
I'm trying to be optimistic about IE7, but I find it hard. I think everyone does, and with very good reason. Microsoft has been challenged, not just in browser wars, but in every other piece of software. They've got the idea by now, and from some of their recent actions, they're getting much better. How IE7 will operate, and how powerful secure Longhorn will be still is yet to be seen
