Speaking as a guy who has played one, but still does not own one – that was cool of him to be modest and turn it down. But as I think about it, that would be hard to turn down. I have to admire the guy! :o)

Kinda sucks that they're core systems. That means that it's extra cash for either a memory unit or a hard drive (which is $100).
Still, better than nothing at all.
