Those headphones are great, aren't they? Actually, I shelled out the $330 for the ER-4 model a couple years ago. They can be worth every penny! I used to commute to work from Florida to downtown Houston, TX. These headphones eliminated the noise from crying babys on the plane and the loud busses downtown. With these things, you are in your own world; you could stand next to a jackhammer and barely notice the noise. I tried Sony and Bose noice-cancelling headphones and they're no better than ordinary headphones (at least when flying). Now, I just use them when I'm cutting the lawn - I can't afford to hire a lawn service after spending all my $ on the headphones :p

Try Foobar 2000. It supports WMA format, and MP3. It uses smaller resources on your pc while running in the background - as opposed to WMP which hogs major MB during normal operation .

Dave, I know about the Pearl Jam concerts i happen to own a select few of those ;-P. I know that very few people will even understand why one person would collect an entire tour, but its great to see how the band reacts and is treated in each city. Plus, some bands do things differently in certain cities. But with that, its not enough (for me). A lot of bands do radio promos in various cities. Some of them actually perform for that radio station only. For example, Our Lady Peace did an incredibly beautiful acoustic version of Somewhere Out There and Innocent. This is gold for the band and Sony Music. Nothing like this was released on either single. Kazaa and othe p2p's are loaded with this kind of material. Thats why i continue to support them. Its not cool having to wait years for the bands to finally release a acoustic/B-side CDs. But yea like Ricochet said, Im not gonna break the bank for something I can get at a local record store. Although I would like to see prices go down, drastically. [Just the simple thoughts of one hardcore music fan] To each his own I guess.

Mulletman: iTMS does offer concert CD's for a few bands. Pearl Jam has over 2000 tracks in iTMS. This is because they have over 70 "CD's" from different concerts. I can't see any one person buying more than one of those CD's but hey, at least they have them.
peartree: That's why I browse MP3.com for stuff there. It's indie stuff too, but I don't have to pay anything to get the MP3's!

Dude! eMusic sucks rocks (and drools). Sure, there are hundreds of thousands of tracks on there. What they don't mention is that nearly all are indies. That may be fine for some, but the artists I want aren't there (mostly).
Still, better them than Rhapsody!!!

I'm a purist at heart. I see any kind of lossy encoding as less than I deserve. For this reason alone, I'll continue to buy the music I cherish on CDs. I know AAC is better quality than MP3s, and there are ways to bypass the maddening DRM. You still end up with less quality than what you started with. It isn't equal - in sound or tactile response - to what you get on a store bought CD. iTunes and the other digital music service outlets are cool for finding obscure tracks, but I'm not going to max. out the credit card. To each his own.

Eh, I used to have an Archos but i ditched it for my MiniDisc. MiniDisc man here, MD all the way! i love my new Sharp and sony headsets. dont knock the expensive headsets yet, as a music junkie i have to say its a great investment. The problem i have with paid music services is that they are all limited to studio albums. Im a super huge music junkie and a huge bootlegger, im a concert freak. if the record companies wouuld only offer several concerts i garruntee thier sales would go up. hell, i'd pour my college tuition into them! (just dont tell my father)
