I Made the 25 Worst Web Sites List
PC World has published a list of The 25 Worst Web Sites. Weighing in at #25, Rentmychest.com:
Look up the word hunk in any dictionary, and you will not find a picture of a bare-chested Chris Pirillo, the guy behind download sites such as lockergnome.com. But you used to be able to find several such pictures at this site, where the pasty, paunchy Pirillo auctioned off messages, written on his chest with magic marker, for $20 a pop. These days the marker-based messages are gone, replaced by a single background image that I wish I hadn’t seen and a bunch of linked keywords. Believe it or not, the keywords are actually more expensive, starting at $200. Look, Chris may know his downloads, but please, somebody buy this man a gym membership.
I get the last laugh, though. My chest rentals have generated over $5,000 in revenue so far – which is likely a little more than you’ve made from your own torso. ;)

“Paunchy?” The editors at PCWorld should be willing to back up that accusation by baring their chests, showing us just how buff they are. As for “pasty,” well … I got nothin’.

That is just so wrong. I’ve got sites so bad PC World has never even heard of them…no one has read them. If you try to bookmark one of my sites your browser will crash. The word “pointless” in Wikipedia has a screen shot of one of my sites as an illustration.
But Chris’ site, seen by idiots everywhere (I should know), gets a mention. It’s unjust, I say!
Chris, just watch your traffic increase dramatically now. Time to shave the old billboard again.

Haha, that was the greatest come-back I have ever seen Chris. This guy’s just jealous. And please, I’ve seen SO MANY worser sites, this doesn’t even compare to them. …..and who uses the word, “Paunchy?”

Dude. I so wanted to rent your chest but I couldn’t afford it…and PC World is written by a bunch of weirdo’s who’s written topics bore the crap out of me. Your magazine and articles are MUCH more awesome, although I am waiting for that PC MODDER issue covering the newest computer parts.
Chris, as far as I am concerned, you are a genius. Screw PC MAG!

Adding to my last comment, I get the feeling the revenue came from two requests for a woman’s chest and one request for half a woman’s chest. Heh, what can I say.
