Why are they so attractive to people? I've tried using them, many times. I don't see the point. When each page is in it's own window, Alt-Tab switches applications. It's that simple. I hated that I could only ever see one document at a time when Word was an MDI application - we're talking about the same thing here: one IE document at a time... I think that sets back UI design, rather than makes it better - Windows Purism has nothing to do with. I like having multiple windows open at the same, rather than having a DOS experience, where I have one screen and nothing BUT that screen open at once.

I have to admit it… I hate Tabs. Hum, I think only bad religion (microsoft, or wanting a JOB at Microsoft) would keep any one from exploring the truth to what is the best product and actually writing about said best product. Microsoft has left a very bad impression over the last few years. They have simply lost touch with what brought them to #1. Jobs, FireFox, Linux, these should all scare the living shit out of MS... Or, quite possibly finally force them to start building something worthy of use again. I've already moved on too late for me guys...

FIREFOX has already won this one! Actually, I have tried tabbed browsing, and I still don't get why it's better. The only thing I can see that makes a difference from "using the regular ol' taskbar" is that tabbed browsing wastes more of my screen real estate.

Few folks seem to understand why tabbed browsing is better than using the regular ol' taskbar to flip between open browser windows; it's a difficult concept to explain unless you've actually tried them before.<br

IE is <a href="http://news.com.com/More+security+hiccups+for+IE/2100-1002_3-5457105.html?part=rss&tag=5457105&subj=news.1002.20" rel="nofollow">chock FULL of security vulnerabilities</a> , <a href="http://www.tbray.org/ongoing/When/200x/2003/07/17/BrowserDream" rel="nofollow">poor implementation of web standards and many, many other problems</a>.
As for this quote:
"Methinks you ought to just keep using MyIE2 and say the heck with M$"...
MyIE2 and AvantBrowser ARE Internet Exploer, folks.
Use Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Unless of course you have a lot of time to waste. I'd also add, you might be better off to take all that time you would use trying to get M$ to change and use it to promote MyIE2!!!! I am sure the developer would love that!!!
