I, Browser
After proselytizing Microsoft employees (and a few MVPs) to spin Maxthon on their own systems, I was formally introduced to Dave Massy – Senior Program Manager for Internet Explorer. Few folks seem to understand why tabbed browsing is better than using the regular ol' taskbar to flip between open browser windows; it's a difficult concept to explain unless you've actually tried them before. I, too, was once a Windows Web purist – refusing to see the value of alternative clients that use the Trident engine. When I was finally sick of being inundated with pop-unders a few years ago, I started to pay serious attention to the more popular IE overlays. After one minute of being on my system, MyIE2 became the default browsing app. Dave told me that the world will likely not see major updates to Internet Explorer until Longhorn. Methinks they need a solid “top ten reasons” to issue an interim build!
GoToAssist lets you provide support to your friends or customers even when they aren't at home. By using the unattended support feature, you can fix their software issues, install their updates, or nearly anything else you would normally do on-site.

Methinks you ought to just keep using MyIE2 and say the heck with M$. Unless of course you have a lot of time to waste. I'd also add, you might be better off to take all that time you would use trying to get M$ to change and use it to promote MyIE2!!!! I am sure the developer would love that!!!

When will you stop drinking the MS Kool-aid, Chris?
IE is chock FULL of security vulnerabilities , poor implementation of web standards and many, many other problems.
As for this quote:
“Methinks you ought to just keep using MyIE2 and say the heck with M$”…
MyIE2 and AvantBrowser ARE Internet Exploer, folks.
Use Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
Thanks,
-Jason

I am a long-time Microsoft fan, but the company's browser progress is an utter joke. Microsoft is dangerously complacent and thick-headed. Microsoft: you are losing the battle war! Listen to the rest of the world!

I hope that when you proselytized them you used a rubber glove.

Actually, I have tried tabbed browsing, and I still don't get why it's better. The only thing I can see that makes a difference from “using the regular ol' taskbar” is that tabbed browsing wastes more of my screen real estate.

Make no mistake: Firefox is on the rise, and it will be as long as IE is so full of vulnerabilities. I've dumped both IE and Outlook Express. For me it's nothing but Mozilla for the forseeable future.

FIREFOX has already won this one! Hum, I think only bad religion (microsoft, or wanting a JOB at Microsoft) would keep any one from exploring the truth to what is the best product and actually writing about said best product. Microsoft has left a very bad impression over the last few years. They have simply lost touch with what brought them to #1. Jobs, FireFox, Linux, these should all scare the living shit out of MS… Or, quite possibly finally force them to start building something worthy of use again. I've already moved on too late for me guys…

Does Chris actually read the comments on his own board? I haven't seen him reply to any of our posts. I guess he listens to us the same way that Microsoft listens to him!

I have to admit it… I hate Tabs. HATE them. HATE HATE HATE. Why are they so attractive to people? I've tried using them, many times. I don't see the point. When each page is in it's own window, Alt-Tab switches applications. It's that simple. I hated that I could only ever see one document at a time when Word was an MDI application – we're talking about the same thing here: one IE document at a time… I think that sets back UI design, rather than makes it better – Windows Purism has nothing to do with. I like having multiple windows open at the same, rather than having a DOS experience, where I have one screen and nothing BUT that screen open at once.
