I’ve purchased a HP laptop TX1210us which suddenly stopped working yesterday, after barely one year and few month of use without notice. No longer boots up. Turns on the lights, but the screen stays deep black … Impossible to express in few words the great loss of unsaved data and the damage this is causing to my work, so I’m gonna give the link I’ve found while I was searching for help. I Hope this info will be useful for those who looks for a laptop but still didn’t made their decisions. … And, please, don’t you make my mistake!

I have this computer and personally, I love it. It’s very portable and runs great. I don’t have any complaints about it.

if anyone was in the channel the day it happend, this is the tablet i had BLOW UP on me (ok, more of a fizzle snap smoke). none the less, i cant trust it, even if its been returned to me with a new motherboard, and…
…oops….someone left an extended cell battery in it, (so that makes me loaded with 3batteries for this unit….)
now, i will say that the service took only 2 weeks…and it seems to be working even better than the first motherboard toaster one. still, hard to trust something like that….regardless. the rant is on the blog on myspace link
the main gripe i have…not really with the tablet, or M$ (gasp, im not blaming M$, the world is over), but the fact that this laptop, and version of Vista is 64bit….drivers are a pain in bum to find, at the moment, so i really cant use this like i wanted until m-audio makes 64bit vista drivers for some of their gear…..if you want an owners view of the TX1000 ask me to post a bit more info….

um, screw the FINISH..thats not what im using is it, its in the BACK of the unit while in use….why is the HP guy so focused on how it looks, and not how it works…..its a TOUCHPAD…whoo hoooo!, i use a mini bluetooth mouse with it anyway.

SW on HP….HAHAHAHA….even after you uninstall the internet assistant…you have to know what your doing to find it buried in the scheduler, and how to get it not to pop every 30 min. up an ‘x’ unclosable 404 window (alt f4 closes it). there is WAY too much BS SW included with HP windows….my wife’s XPS Dell had NONE or very little Bloatware installed on the system.

there is NO, repaet, NOOOOO software to configure the buttons….(that i could find)

the fingerprint scanner does work, lets you have a long password, or your thumbprint…its neat..when it works…takes a little programming

battery life…BAD for its size….some tweaks should be done to give the CPU a break, giving the battery a break, or you can just get some spare batteries

the remote and its storage is neat …

the butt has been changed with my version…

Hey you chipmunks!!!

To use the Flash player for MP3 you need to make sure your bit rate is divisible by 11050khz to avoid ‘chipmunking’
